Early this year in March, I had received some exciting news that I was being considered for the National Association Realtors® Magazine Class of 2017- 30 under 30. I know a mouth full right? But it never gets less exciting to say. I was so ecstatic and also a little shocked.. thinking they maybe had the wrong Lucy? I wanted this deeply, genuinely and with all of my 5’5 being. Even if I still had four years to do it, so what -a girl’s gotta dream. In preparation for voting, I spent a week (and what felt like an eternity) frolicking around my favorite St. louis spots with a handful of these large, gold, numbered & slightly dreadful balloons. Moving, shaking, and jumping- (check out instagram for a laugh).
Well it came to fruition and in the May issue of Realtor® Magazine the incredible 30 under 30 Realtors® from across the Nation were featured. (Link to view- http://realtormag.realtor.org/30-under-30/honoree/2017)
I remember leaving my grammy’s (Marilyn-only the sweetest woman in South St Louis) house just right down the street from the office, refreshing my email, one swipe at a time. 11:59am 12:00pm, 12:01pm. Finally, I read “Congra..” and I immediately read no further before running into the office, screaming of course. Thank the sweet Lord I didn’t misinterpret a sorry congratulatory email because I don’t know if Alice, Billy and my mom who were at the office would have had the heart to tell me. Especially after I flew through the doors to inside.
Now, just a few weeks ago the YPN chapter (Young Professional Network) in St Louis put together a 30 under 30 happy hour and luncheon panel. I was lucky enough to be a guest on the panel along with Melanie Stone, Jessica Randolph and Krista Clark. An amazing group of ladies with some rock star ideas, marketing material and amazing work ethic. Each possessed a shared pattern; they were resilient and passionate. We learned about strategy, insight to the operations of their business and above all, how they’ve made it as the mover and shakers of their markets and communities.
Authenticity and an intense desire to succeed in real estate was a key ingredient for all panelist but above most was a passion for client satisfaction.
